On Obama's "Accommodation" On Mandated Contraception

“President Obama finally admitted today what I - and millions of my fellow Americans - have known for weeks. He has no authority to make rules that violate the free exercise of religion as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.

“Our current congressman, however, remains out of touch with his district. My opponent continues to pretend that it’s perfectly acceptable for government to use the guise of ‘greater good’ to mandate what insurance will cover, regardless of whose freedoms are trampled.

“Sadly, this debate serves as a fresh reminder that advocates of ObamaCare won’t hesitate to use the heavy hand of government to dictate the terms and conditions of our health care. We still need legislation that includes conscience protections for religious organizations. I won’t be satisfied until we’re assured that President Obama and Bill Owens can’t pull this stunt again.” - Matt Doheny
